Change your Windows 7 Login Screen

If you are not bored of the default background image on the login screen of Windows 7, then turn back right now. If not, to change the background to your favorite picture. you'll just have to follow 4 easy steps and voila!.





Step 1: Open Notepad and enter the following lines into it.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00         [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\Background] "OEMBackground"=dword:00000001

        Now save the file as a .reg file on your desktop.

Step 2: Right Click on the file and select Merge option to add it to your existing registry.

Step 3: Select your favorite picture and rename it to 'backgrounddefault.jpg'. Since this is goin' to be your logon screen try it to be in landscape form.

Step 4:  Create a folder with the name 'backgrounds'  under the folder C:\Windows\System32\oobe\Info'. Now paste your picture in this folder and you're done.  you can see that at your next login. If you want to change it, you can simply replace the image file.
